This 1,583-foot cable-stayed bridge connects St. Francisville with New Roads north of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The construction is the longest of its kind in North America. AFT was responsible for installing Strain Instrumentation in each main pylon shaft, design and fabrication of grouting systems, the performance of Post Grouting of Drilled Shafts, monitoring the instrumentation during grouting, and providing reports for 92 shafts. AFT performed CSL testing on all shafts and performed Mini-SID inspection of test shafts.
Also, AFT performed extensive Static Load Testing, PDA testing, and CAPWAP analysis of nearly 200 test piles for seven approach bridges on driven piles. AFT’s experience and capability to perform a wide variety of functions in this landmark project provided the confidence and simplicity the client required when they needed it the most.
